This my normal studio kit i use on most projects for myself and the people that hire me for studio work. It's got everything i need.
Sometimes in the studio you use only a basic kit. All of it depends on the project and style your going for. Instrumental projects and metal projects i use this kit. Loads of fun.
Ok the list of some of the equipment i use often.. Ludwig, Sonor, Tama, DW, drums. Cymbals ...I was with Paiste cymbals for years and this past year got signed onto Soultone cymbals. So im onto a new adventure with them. I use Vic Firth ( metal n) drumsticks, red tip. In most cases, i use the Dave Weckl signature stick by Vic Firth in jazz and lighter song applications, they don't need to be as big and heavy for those applications, so the smaller stick is great......Pedals.. DW 5000 & 7000, for double pedals, single pedals and hi-hat applications, also re-mote hit-hats..... Hi-hat cymbal sizes i use...13" 14" 15"... Ride cymbal sizes... 20" 22" 24"...... Crash cymbals 13" 15" 16"17" 18" 19" 20" 22".... Splash sizes.. 8" 10" 12".... Bell splash... 4" 6" 8" 10" .... Ice bells.. 10" 12"..... china's 16" 17"18" 20" Style ... most crash's are 2002.. when doing a heavier music i use all RUDE'S. These cymbals mentioned are all paiste brand. I will have a list of the Soultone cymbals later this year of what i'm having made..... Rack .. is from Gibraltar and its a custom rack system i have made for all my kits. LP is were i get my cow bells and wood blocks from and they are on DW pedals to be used with my feet. The heads i use are Remo & Aquarian drum heads. P2 and Pinstripe.. Thrones. ROC sock drum seats. Octoban drums ... i have D DRUMS, Tama, Pearl makes me the metal ones. They are all tuned to the keys on a piano,, c,d,e,f,g,a,b,c it's a lot of work but they sound amazing in the right application. Everything else is custom made from my tom -tom sizes too the bass drum sizes. and woods used, my preferences change depending on the gig and the kind of shows lined up.( Enjoy what you do in life, for your life is on you as how far you go, you live once make it the best experience you can , and love your skill.
